Welcome to Women Inspired. If you happened to stumble upon this page—whether accidentally or purposefully—, you have come to the right place.

My name is Aditi Purushothaman, and I am the founder of Women Inspired, an organization that works towards uplifting girls and people from marginalized communities through creative means.

As a competitive squash player, I have seen firsthand the inequalities faced by girls and the disadvantages that hinder talented players. Since I was nine years old, I have been competing in tournaments across the country visiting and meeting people from all walks of life. My worldview has expanded dramatically, and my passion in advocacy increased.

I knew that I wanted to make an impact in my community in some way. But would could I do?

The final piece of the puzzle to this answer clicked into place—creativity. One of my biggest passions is creative writing and music. I have been playing the guitar and composing my own songs for as long as I remember.

Eventually, my love for creative writing would result in the creation of this organization, encompassing both a nonprofit (Sports for Good) and this blog.

Creativity + empowerment + a bright, ambitious energy = the perfect recipe for change.

So, why me?

I have been involved in many programs and projects that encourage more youth engagement in societal issues. I am the co-founder of Inspire, a school-run literary magazine that collects visual art, creative writing, essays, and photographs pertaining to gender inequality, mental health, and other important topics. I also have been volunteering with the Cincinnati Squash Academy, and I am thankful for the opportunity to tutor and coach these student-athletes.

I have won several Silver Keys and a Gold Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in poetry and essay writing. I started and ran a youth empowerment event through the Biden Inaugural Committee, with the wonderful guest speaker Cincinnati City Councilmember Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney. This event focused on youth in activism and the steps needed to make a positive impact on one’s community.

In short, I am deeply invested in making an impact on my community through words and storytelling. Together, let us break down these societal barriers and inspire others.

Thank you for visiting my website and reading my mission. Welcome, and make yourself at home.
